Birding Tour: Bee Gum Point Preserve

Birding Tour
Amateurs and experienced birders are invited to grab a cup of coffee and head to the Land Trust's conservation land for a morning walk. A knowledgeable birder will lead the group on an outing to survey the species located on the 111-acre protected area. The walk will take birders on a 1.5-mile path around mangrove forest, by ponds, and past the Lagoon. The tour is approximately 1 1/2 hours.

Invasive plants are a major threat to the health and integrity of native wildlife habitats. They crowd out native plants that provide food and shelter. Restoration includes hand removal of non-native weeds, vines and saplings to prevent degradation or loss of native plant communities. Join us to spend a morning improving our protected habitats. All equipment, including gloves, are provided.

JOIN US AS WE HIT THE TRAILS – A SPECIAL TRIP TO THE BREVARD ZOO! Tuesday, January 30, 2024 8:15 am – 5 pm Join us for an exciting day trip to the Brevard Zoo in Melbourne. We will depart Vero Beach at 8:15 am via private coach, and arrive to enjoy a full day at the Zoo, including lunch. Guests will also enjoy a special animal encounter and a tour of the Sea Turtle Healing Center, which is typically closed to the public. Space will be limited and early registration is encouraged. Spoonbill Marsh is a 65-acre man-made wetland system designed and managed to cleanse naturally-occurring residue from Indian River County’s drinking water treatment plant that draws from deep groundwater wells. Tour participants will enjoy an easy, 1.5-mile walk on uncovered boardwalks and gravel roads around the naturalized wetlands while learning about the facility’s history, goals, design features, water monitoring, and native plants and wildlife.
